These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Tooston and the games we publish (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. The Service
Tooston provides free, browser-based versions of classic games, playable against computer opponents or against other people online. The Service is provided free of charge and requires no account. Individual games are published on their own domains and these Terms apply to all of them.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use offensive, harassing, hateful or impersonating display names
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or modify the game client to gain an unfair advantage
- Use bots, scripts or automation to interact with matchmaking
- Attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to our infrastructure
- Scrape, reverse engineer or redistribute the Service or its assets
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
We may block access to anyone who violates these rules, without notice.
3. No account, no guarantee of persistence
The Service does not use accounts. Nicknames, settings, scores and match history are stored in your browser only. Clearing your browser data erases them permanently, and we cannot recover them because we never had a copy.
4. Online matches
Online play depends on third-party realtime infrastructure and on your own network. We do not guarantee that a match will be found, that a match will complete without interruption, or that latency will be suitable for competitive play. Matches ended by an opponent disconnecting are resolved in favour of the remaining player or players.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including its code, design, graphics, written guides and branding, is owned by Tooston and protected by intellectual property law. You may play the games; you may not copy, distribute or create derivative works from them without permission.
The underlying games are traditional: air hockey, Snake and Ludo are decades or centuries old and are not owned by us. Our implementations of them are.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tooston shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties for hosting, realtime networking and analytics. Your use is also subject to their terms. The full list is in our Privacy Policy.
9. Children
The Service is intended for a general audience. See our COPPA notice for information relevant to children under 13.
10. Changes
We may revise these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change, and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
